On 9 April 2019, we proudly received the DIN EN 9100 certificate, which applies to the Altena, Unna and Werdohl locations, from TÜV Nord. DIN EN 9100, which is based on the general quality management standard according to DIN EN ISO 9001, is an extension of the standard that applies specifically to the aerospace industry.
Udo Kubitz, Cluster Head of TÜV Nord, presented the certificate to Rolf Schencking, Chief Technical Officer.
A total of three auditors closely inspected VDM for four weeks. "Every smallest stone was turned over and meticulously inspected," explains Kai Griesenbrock, Head of Quality Management at VDM Metals. But the effort was worth it - despite the more difficult conditions caused by the change of the certification company to TÜV Nord, VDM Metals more than met the requirements and was awarded for a professional and exemplary performance.
All the departments involved worked exceptionally well together. "We are all VDM and this certificate is the result of our joint effort," says Mr. Griesenbrock.
