Tobias Coerschulte joins the Management Board of VDM Metals, global market leader for nickel alloys and high-alloy special stainless steels, effectice 1 March 2024. Daniel Azpitarte, previously Managing Director with responsibility for the integration of VDM Metals into the Acerinox Group, had previously left the Management Board.
Dr. Niclas Müller will remain Chairman of the Management Board, while Holger Arnold and Frank Morris will continue to be responsible for Production and Finance respectively. "We are looking forward to working with Tobias Coerschulte, who knows VDM extremely well thanks to his more than ten years of work and various functions. At the same time, we would like to thank Daniel Azpitarte for his outstanding support during the integration of VDM Metals into the Acerinox Group in the last years," says Dr. Niclas Müller, CEO of VDM Metals.
Coerschulte's appointment to the Management Board is also accompanied by a change in the organisation of responsibilities. In future, Mr. Coerschulte will be responsible for the Supply Chain Management, Service Centre, Metal Trading and Inhouse Consulting divisions. "The integration project has been completed. The two Acerinox divisions, Stainless Steel and High Performance Alloys, work hand in hand. Meanwhile, we are facing a variety of new challenges and want to expand our position as global market leader in the coming years and continue to grow profitably after a record year in 2023. In the new constellation, we are excellently positioned for this," explains Dr. Müller.
Tobias Coerschulte holds a Master's degree in industrial engineering from the Technical University of Dortmund and an MBA from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He started his professional career as a trainee at VDM in October 2012 and has held various positions over the past few years - including Head of Inhouse Consulting from 2016 and Head of Supply Chain Management with around 90 employees since 2021.
Tobias Coerschulte lives in Sundern, Germany, with his partner and two children.
